Brief description:

 A teenage girl with peculiar powers is stuck in a lab with a mad scientist who imprisoned her and is bringing supernatural demons to our dimension from another, however things don’t always go to plan …

 

The Episode

Brief description of the whole episode:

 it’s a normal day in the lab and Arabella goes outside like normal but ends up realising one of the supernatural demons has escaped the lab…

Characters:

Arabella (main girl), Dr. Ronald (mad scientist), Lilith (supernatural human/demon)

 inside the lab (in school), outside (front field/behind school)

 

Narrative (what happens):

 Arabella goes about her day like normal in the mad scientist’s lab however once she’s enters a corridor she notices a strange creature

 A demon escapes the lab

Intertextual references? –some scenes referenced to stranger things (e.g. stranger things season 3 eleven vs the mind flayer, stranger things season 1 Joyce with the Christmas lights),Kubrick shot ,

 Stereotypes challenged or subverted? - Strong female main character so it challenges the stereotypes of females being looked at as weak.

Demons in the Shadows~ short film GCSE project!

This is a short film that I directed, filmed, and edited for my GCSE media studies coursework! I was awarded a grade 6 on this piece as well as my theoretically based written exams, this piece was also featured in multiple talks and assembly's at my high school where they showcased students coursework. During my time on this course I was also regularly asked personally to be present at open evenings and subject events to showcase the course to other students and parents alongside my teachers and technicians. This particular piece of work proved to be challenging as I had a project brief to follow, scripts to produce for people taking part, style models, initial planning, and I also had to complete this project alongside my other subjects in year 11 at GCSE level.

Cinematography Example! - Natural Leading Lines & Dramatic Lighting!

With these photos, I wanted to capture the aspect of natural leading lines and dramatic lighting and how they enhance the level of cinematography within a photo. In the first photo it shows natural leading lines with the river going across the frame, which essentially carries yours or your viewers eyes along with it. This is useful because it shows you don't always need a vocal point to your frame you just need something to capture the audiences attention. In the second photo it shows dramatic lighting from the natural sunlight which creates contrast because of the shadows that fall along the distant mountains. Contrast is important because it shows depth within the picture, and allows the audience to interpret the scene more clearly, helping to guide their emotional response by helping them understand the visual hierarchy.
