DEMONS IN THE SHADOWS

 

(ESTABLISHING SHOT OF OUTSIDE THE LAB)

(shot of Arabella sat on a chair near her desk in her cell)

ARABELLA uses her powers to move Dolly Dead Eyes to her  

ARABELLA gets Dolly Dead Eyes and heads towards the door of her cell

 

(SHOT OF ARABELLA OPENING HER CELL DOOR ON THE OUTSIDE (KUBRICK SHOT))

 

1.INT.LAB CORRIDOOR 1.DAY

ARABELLA is walking along the lab corridor holding Dolly Dead Eyes, DR. RONALD  enters the corridor through a side door. ARABELLA stops in her tracks.

 

Dr. RONALD

Arabella, what are you doing out of your room?

 

ARABELLA

Umm I’m going outside, for my constitutional walk Dr. Ronald.

 

DR. RONALD

Oh okay, well whatever you do stay out of section  4c.

 

ARABELLA

Why?

 

DR. RONALD

Umm, construction work

 

DR. RONALD exits the corridor through the same door leaving ARABELLA confused.

 

 

ARABELLA

Okay.

 

 

 

1. int.lab corridor 2.DAY

ARABELLA keeps making her way outside (Multiple shots including a Kubrick shot), however she starts to hear screaming from room 4c while on the corridor.

 

 

 

 

ARABELLA

What’s that noise? Room 4c…

 

ARABELLA looks around to see if anyone is around.

She walks over.

The screaming continues then stops.

The whole corridor is silent.

The door slowly creaks open.

ARABELLA turns around and bolts to the nearest exit a strange entity trailing behind.

 

2. ext.outside the lab.day

ARABELLA barges through the exit, dropping dolly dead eyes.

She stops, the exit opens again with a large entity of darkness.

ARABELLA

Lilith?

 

 

LILITH starts to move towards ARABELLA.

Demons in the Shadows~ short film GCSE project!

This is a short film that I directed, filmed, and edited for my GCSE media studies coursework! I was awarded a grade 6 on this piece as well as my theoretically based written exams, this piece was also featured in multiple talks and assembly's at my high school where they showcased students coursework. During my time on this course I was also regularly asked personally to be present at open evenings and subject events to showcase the course to other students and parents alongside my teachers and technicians. This particular piece of work proved to be challenging as I had a project brief to follow, scripts to produce for people taking part, style models, initial planning, and I also had to complete this project alongside my other subjects in year 11 at GCSE level.

Cinematography Example! - Natural Leading Lines & Dramatic Lighting!

With these photos, I wanted to capture the aspect of natural leading lines and dramatic lighting and how they enhance the level of cinematography within a photo. In the first photo it shows natural leading lines with the river going across the frame, which essentially carries yours or your viewers eyes along with it. This is useful because it shows you don't always need a vocal point to your frame you just need something to capture the audiences attention. In the second photo it shows dramatic lighting from the natural sunlight which creates contrast because of the shadows that fall along the distant mountains. Contrast is important because it shows depth within the picture, and allows the audience to interpret the scene more clearly, helping to guide their emotional response by helping them understand the visual hierarchy.
