Style Model 1

Name of text (copy and paste here if doing print media):  stranger things

Genre Conventions

Film Brief –

- Camera-low-key lighting used in shots,

-Editing-sparkles used in the shots in the upside down for the effect its otherworldly

-Mise-En-Scene- science lab, hospital

-Sound-mysterious thrilling sounds and music

 - Recognisable characters: eleven hoppers, will byers, Mike wheeler, Nancy wheeler, Steve Harrington, Jonathan byers, Robin Buckley

Representation

Any stereotypes recognised or challenged? Strong female representing main character   – How are the representations created? By her having supernatural powers, which makes her challenge female stereotypes of women being fragile and weak.

What have you learnt? What works and what doesn’t? How will the text influence your production?

The lab setting with supernatural creatures and powers, strong female represented, I've also learned that things don't always go according to plan when filming and editing as I had to cut multiple scenes to fit within the time frame.

-Editing-the effect with the brightness of shots

-Mise-En-Scene- small town?

-Sound- upbeat pop and rock

 – Recognisable characters: Sabrina Spellman, Salem (cat), Zelda Spellman, Ambrose Spellman, Hilda Spellman

Representation

Any stereotypes recognised or challenged? Challenged by having an independent woman defeating monsters and villains in the town of Greendale – How are the representations created? They are created by placing the main character in these situations

Evaluation

What have you learnt? What works and what doesn’t? How will the text influence your production? This will influence my production by having supernatural beings in my production with witchcraft involved to defeat supernatural creatures.

Genre Conventions

Film Brief-

 -Camera- wide shots to establish setting

-Editing-green screen effect used in the giraffe scene

-Mise-En-Scene-forest, post-apocalyptic world

-Sound – suspense music

- Recognisable characters:  Ellie, Joel miller

Representation

Any stereotypes recognised or challenged? Strong female main character in a post-apocalyptic world fighting the monsters and trying to survive – How are the representations created? By there being a strong male protagonist paired with a female but they represent a father and daughter relationship.

Evaluation

What have you learnt? What works and what doesn’t? How will the text influence your production? The text will influence my production by having a strong feminine character trying to survive in a fantasy world while having to find food, kill clickers(zombies), protect herself and Joel from others who mean harm.
